[ Description ]
Two-month internship at Mosaic Design, an architecture studio in Tokyo. I worked on a competition entry for a memorial circle in Sendai, focused on the early design stages. My part was developing initial 3D site plans and a set of custom icons and graphics for the presentation materials. I worked closely with the design team on both the concept and how it came across to the jury.

RESEARCH AND SOLUTION

CONCLUSION
This internship taught me how to develop a visual system for something with real, immediate stakes, a competition entry a jury would actually judge, rather than a self-directed brief with room to experiment freely. Alongside the icon and graphic work, I got hands-on experience building 3D massing models and 2D site plans for the proposal, learning how architectural work communicates scale, context, and siting in a completely different way to branding. Every element needed absolute clarity, since a juror had to read the proposal instantly, with no space for anything decorative that didn't earn its place.
What mattered most was learning to fit my process into someone else's studio and standards rather than my own, and picking up a genuinely new skill set (3D and 2D architectural representation) outside my usual graphic design work. Working inside an unfamiliar culture, pace, and process, on the other side of the world, pushed me to adapt quickly and contribute meaningfully to both the visual and spatial decisions without having full context from day one.
