[ Description ]

The Moon Repository Project, also known as "Second Chance," is a visionary initiative aimed at preserving Earth's biodiversity for future generations. By collecting and cryogenically storing DNA from endangered and vulnerable species, the project creates a secure genetic archive on the Moon. Leveraging cutting-edge space station technology and global collaboration, this effort safeguards the building blocks of life against environmental crises and extinction. The project embodies humanity’s responsibility to protect and restore the natural world, ensuring the legacy of Earth’s rich ecosystems endures far beyond the challenges of our time.

SECOND CHANCE

RESEARCH AND SOLUTION

CONCLUSION

Second Chance was built around combining space and animals into a single logo and name, which turned out to be a much harder combination to make legible than it sounds. Getting a mark that visitors could actually read as "Second Chance," rather than just an abstract shape, took a lot of iteration, refining the same idea over and over until the concept held together instantly rather than needing an explanation.

This taught me how much weight a single logo has to carry on its own, and how many rounds of stripping an idea back it can take before two unrelated concepts actually read as one coherent mark. I also learned to judge a logo by whether someone gets it in a couple of seconds without context, not by how clever the idea feels to me while I'm making it. It sharpened my patience with iteration, since the version that finally worked usually looked far simpler than the ones that came before it.
